Chinese Tea Eggs (茶叶蛋)


16 hard boiled eggs, shells cracked
1 packet Eu Yan Sang Tea Eggs mix
2 tbsp light soy
1 tbsp dark soy
2 tsp salt
3 tbsp raw sugar

  • Put all ingredients with enough water covering the eggs.
  • Bring to the boil and simmer for at least 3 hours.  
  • Serve hot.


  1. you just remind me I have a pack of this ready store-bought herbs not yet use to make this herbal eggs, have to check whether expire or not, hehehe..

  2. I have tried cooking this once but cannot get the nice patterns on the egg, I think I didn't crack the eggs enough to the tea to stain them well...got to try again, yours looks so nice!
